Mychael Schnell is a Congressional Reporter for The Hill with a love for the unpredictable, exciting nature of politics. Originally, Mychael was interested in sports journalism but, during the 2016 election, she discovered her love for politics.
"In a way, [politics] is like a sport. You have the teams: Democrats, Republicans. You've got the primaries, which are the play-offs, and the Super Bowl, which is your general election," she says.
Politics aside, Mychael is a proud New Yorker from Long Island with the unusal talent of quickly solving Rubik's Cubes. Watch her solve a 3x3 in 90 seconds on this episode.

Being a Congressional Reporter is much like being a Staffer, at times. There is a lot of sacrificing personal time and energy that comes with the job, but it's all worth it to Mychael.
"It is an all-day, all-night, all-weekend type of job, but the exhilaration that you get with it - the adrenaline rush - and the excitement of not exactly knowing how a story is going to end ... it is always exciting. It's something new everyday," she says.
When Mychael does get time outside of work, you can find her cheering on some of her favorite New York sports teams (the Giants, Knicks, and Mets). If you're going to be in the area, she also has expert recommendations for the best pizza joints on Long Island.
